Position Summary

Under supervision of the Operations Coordinator, this position is responsible for primary and secondary packaging room activities and the supervision of Packaging Room Associates.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Direct supervision of multiple Packaging Room Associates regarding completion of packaging room activities.
  2. Manages day to day packaging room activities in primary and secondary packaging rooms.
  3. Supervises and delegates responsibility for operating appropriate equipment in primary and secondary packaging rooms.
  4. Supervises and delegates responsibility for operating appropriate equipment in primary and secondary packaging rooms.
  5. Accountability of drug product, clinical labels and packaging components within each batch record activity.
  6. Manual bottle filling.
  7. Filling and inspection of blister strips.
  8. Filling, inspection and sealing of blister cards.
  9. Manual label application, assembly and inspection procedures.
  10. May operate semi-automated packaging equipment in primary and secondary packaging rooms.
  11. Supervises appropriate cleaning procedures required for the packaging room and any equipment.
  12. Works directly with representatives of Operations, Quality Assurance and Project Management in resolving any discrepancies or to gain clarification.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Excellent reading and writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • English literacy
  • Works well with others within and outside of the packaging room
  • Familiarity with and strict adherence to cGMP standards
  • Enables packaging room personnel to observe relevant safety procedures regarding the operation of any appropriate equipment in primary and secondary packaging rooms
  • Working knowledge of all SOPs related to packaging rooms
  • Attention to detail
