Personnel

With over 35 years of experience, Peter Bernardo has been instrumental in initiating and accommodating tremendous changes in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to the formation of Xerimis Inc. in 2001, Dr. Bernardo successfully founded and guided SIMIREX Inc. (also dedicated to contract packaging and labeling of clinical supplies) through exponential growth during its ten-year existence (1988-1998), whereupon it was acquired by Quintiles Transnational Inc., one of the largest clinical research organizations in the world. Dr. Bernardo served Quintiles as Chief Operating Officer, Worldwide Clinical Supplies from 1998 through 2000. As Vice President of the Flint Division of Baxter Travenol, Dr. Bernardo was involved in all aspects of development and production activities. Prior to that, he was Formulation Development Head at Lederle Laboratories, with responsibility for both prescription and OTC product formulation. Dr. Bernardo was also formerly at SmithKline and Parke-Davis, where he gained experience in manufacturing and clinical supply production, labeling and packaging.

In 2001, Dr. Bernardo made the decision to retrench from the expanded activities of the former company and once again concentrate on the provision of customized clinical packaging services through his new firm, Xerimis Inc. Having handled thousands of projects, Dr. Bernardo determined that his philosophy of developing partnerships with clients and offering creative alternative courses of action for clinical supply issues was best served via an intimate working environment. Xerimis' experienced staff and state-of-the-art cGMP facility are key to accommodating trial designs ranging from the straight forward to the most highly complex. Xerimis Inc. is privately held, and serves pharmaceutical, bio-technology and clinical research organizations of all sizes for each phase of development.

Dr. Bernardo received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Duquesne University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Bernardo is a member of the Dean's Steering Committee of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan, as well as AAPS, DIA, AphA, ISPE, Rho Chi, Phi Lambda Upsilon, and Sigma XI.
